Meet Doctor Ben


Ben Angarita, M.D.

Doctor Ben, a Top 10 Young Psychiatrists in the USA and Canada according to The American College of Psychiatrists, received his MD from Cornell University Medical School and his bachelor’s degree from Williams College. After Cornell he went on to The Mount Sinai Hospital for his medical internship and  his residency in Psychiatry. He was chosen as Class President at Williams College and Chief  Resident at The Mount Sinai Hospital.

At the Sackler Institute for Developmental Psychobiology at Cornell he worked with BJ Casey, Ph. D to study the effects of a common genetic mutation and early psychosocial stress on an individuals risk to develop an anxiety disorder. Later at the Center of Excellence in Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) at Mount Sinai he worked with Jeffrey Newcorn, M.D. to compare the effectiveness of stimulants versus non-stimulants for the treatment of ADHD.

His experience working globally with diverse cultures and individuals has also made him sensitive to patients of different cultural backgrounds. Doctor Ben has lived and worked in Burma, Brazil, South Africa, India, Colombia, Cuba, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Japan.

Doctor Ben is Latino and was born and raised in Queens. He lives and works in Manhattan.

He speaks Spanish and English fluently.
